Deck of Dragons (Houses)

The Deck of Dragons was the dominant oracular system in the majority of the world. The Deck was made up of a series of cards, depicting the various members of the pantheon. The deck accurately portrayed the pantheon, creating new cards as were necessary for new members. Each card represented a specific role within a House, however non-aligned cards (Ascendants without a House) did exist.
Cards were dealt one at a time, and the reading is dependant on which cards came out. Often cards could be altered, on their own, small changes in the cards depicting how the world and pantheon were unfolding.
The Deck of Dragons was sometimes referred to as the Fatid.

Positions marked as unknown are either unoccupied at the current time or the players are unaware of the individual currently occupying the position. Occupying a position within a house generally comes with some level of patronage and usually marks the occupant as an ascendant, these positions usually come with responsibilities associated with the house. For example, the Herald of High House Death is Gethol, an ancient ascendant, acts as the gatekeeper to the land of the dead and guide to the recently deceased.
